Mike and Joe will be talking with the folks at Providence Children's Development Institute - Newberg about the special care they provide for children in our community.

Blocks, balls, bubbles, books and more … these are the tools of childhood. For most children, play helps strengthen muscles and motor skills, enhances social connection and teaches communication.

When children need extra help to overcome physical, speech or cognitive delays, therapists use a wide variety of therapeutic activities to help them gain strength, overcome deficits and realize their full potential.

Melea Lumsden, an occupational therapist, and Laura Eubanks, a speech language pathologist, from Providence Children’s Development Institute-Newberg will answer important questions for parents:

• How can parents know if a child needs therapy?
• What services are available locally for babies, children and teens?
• How can animals, such as horses, be part of a successful therapy plan?
• How can parents get a consultation?
